The Huron Valley Railroad is our club's HO scale layout. It is loosely based on the what in real life is now the Norfolk Southern Railroad from Detroit to Chicago. In our version of history, when the New York Central was merging with the Pennsylvania RR, it was decided that this track was not needed. A small regional railroad was created to handle the local traffic on the line.
The modeled portion of the line covers Detroit to Jackson using a single track mainline. To allow continuous running, reverse loops are located at each end. We have added staging west of Jackson and just completed staging east of Detroit to simulate traffic from off the layout.
We are working on a more detailed track plan. Hopefully we will have it here soon.
